First of all I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thanks!
Our exercise is normally yoga, calisthenics (push-ups, sit-ups, etc), and/or a short jog. We’ve also experimented with different meditation techniques. We have tried unguided meditation but found that we preferred a guided approach (we’re definitely still beginners!) We’ve used the Headspace app (free version) as well as different guided meditation sessions on YouTube. My favorite has been 6 Phase Guided Meditation by Vishen Lakhiani

Great question, I have had the same struggle! I think that getting in the right frame of mind is probably the most important first step to working on any project, especially writing! For me, I have found that my morning routine makes a huge difference in my productivity and mindset for my entire work day. For almost every morning of 2017 (so far), my fiancée and I have been spending 30 minutes doing light exercise followed by 10-20 minutes of meditation.
